Whilst most players like to put their feet up and take a physical and mental break from football during the summer months, these girls simply carry on!
The name of the team '4 in a Row' was created after the Plymouth Argyle Ladies First team won their 4th County Cup title in consecutive seasons, and then had the opportunity to participate in a summer 6-a-side league organised by the County FA. The team then went on to win this competition.
They have since participated in numerous similar events, with the emphasis on enjoyment and strengthening team cohesion.
Would moving kids' football to a summer game help improve the development of young footballers?
Yes - better pitches mean a better chance to develop technique/skills
No - wouldn't make any real difference to development
Maybe - but I'd be worried about more injuries on firm pitches
